Frequently asked questions

Do I need to install a scanner app?

No. Open this page in your phone's browser and tap Take photo, and the camera opens straight away.

Can I scan several pages into one PDF?

Yes. Take a photo of each page, drag them into the right order, and download them as one PDF.

Does it detect page edges or straighten photos taken at an angle?

No, not yet. Each photo is placed as it is, fitted to an A4 page with no margin. Hold the phone straight above the page, or crop the photo in your gallery first.

Can I make a black-and-white scan?

Not in this tool right now; pages keep the colours of your photo. Shooting in good daylight, with the page filling the frame, gives the cleanest result.

How do I scan the front and back of my Aadhaar or ID card on one page?

Choose “2 per page”, then add the front photo first and the back second. They are placed top and bottom on the same page.

Will the text in my scanned PDF be searchable?

No, the scan is saved as pictures. Run it through OCR PDF afterwards to make the text searchable and copyable, including Hindi and other Indian languages.

Does scanning work on a laptop too?

Yes. On a laptop you pick photos from your files instead of using the camera. On a phone you can also choose photos from your gallery.

Are my files uploaded anywhere?

No. The file is processed inside your browser on your own phone or computer. Nothing is sent to a server, so it is safe for Aadhaar, PAN, bank statements and other private documents.

Is it free? Do I need to sign up?

It is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no daily limit.
